The most beautiful responses to my latest photo shoot were from my women friends. Basically all comments were from them except a few. The purpose of the shots were to have fun with body and fashion, to inspire a summer body work out and to have something to look back at when I’m 82 years old. In my business as a spin + yoga instructor you never have enough pictures. Since my background is dance I feel very new to the fitness game. People often just want to tone and feel sexier. I never saw myself as someone who motivated others and it’s taken me a long time to cultivate the words to do that. Somehow, I’ve managed to get people who wanted to exercise or wanted to feel differently about their bodies, on to bikes, in yoga rooms and on trails. These pretty in pink half nudes have crowded my message box from friends saying things like “I ran today”, “I’m ready to take pictures” and “thanks for getting me going.” Which is dope!
Do it for vanity and sanity
I’m not deep. At least not when it comes to body. Vanity is a fine reason to make a fitness plan. Sanity is too. Sometimes your aim is simple. “I want these jeans to fit nicer.” With an easy objective you may end up with an awesome new workout habit, some cool, sweaty, new people in your life and you’ll probably enjoy the way you look and feel. That’s success. Most of us live these fun but complicated lives and the intensity of your burn session can clear a lot of that chaos from your mind. Happy and calm is pretty.
If you don’t have at least one crazy as hell friend suggesting that you drink juice all day and take back to back spin + yoga classes for no reason at all; then that wild life you’re living just isn’t as amazing as it could be. So if you need an extra adventure friend to text you random sporty, foodie stuff. I’m you’re Coco.
